An exciting job opportunity has arisen to join Birmingham City Council's expanding Environmental Health team.

You will be joining an active, friendly, and professional team with prospects to gain further experience across a range of environmental health areas including: Food Safety, Health and Safety, Statutory Nuisance and Public Health.
We are seeking highly motivated and passionate Environmental Health Officers to join our team.
Successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking investigations, conducting inspections and enforcing a wide range of statutory provisions aimed at protecting and improving public health and the environment.
You will have:
- a Diploma/Degree/BSC/MSC in Environmental Health recognised by the CIEH
- knowledge and practical experience in the enforcement of Environmental Health legislation
- excellent communication skills (oral and written) at all levels including with residents, businesses, colleagues and partner agencies
- an ability to prioritise and manage your own workload to meet deadlines in a busy environment with competing demands
- the ability to work flexibly including some work outside normal officer hours
The requirement to drive is essential. You will be expected to travel within Birmingham for which you will be remunerated for the use of your car.
