Working for Chesterfield Borough Council

A message from Huw Bowen, Chief Executive of CBC

“Welcome to our recruitment website.

We value our employees and their contribution to this Council. One of our key aims is to develop a vibrant and diverse economy and provide a safer and healthier community.

Chesterfield itself is an historic market town in the north of Derbyshire. It has one of the largest open air markets in the country and its famous parish church, with its crooked spire, now occupies the site of the original Roman fort.

We have achieved the Investors in People national award by valuing and encouraging our employees and providing learning and development opportunities. We support all our employees in balancing work and family commitments with flexible working arrangements, and are proud of all our excellent terms and conditions.

The Council takes equality seriously and is committed to providing fair services to everyone. We will not tolerate any form of discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or religion.

We want to achieve a representative workforce which reflects our local communities. Equality monitoring of potential and actual employees covers key aspects of employment practices, including the recruitment and selection process.

On this website you should find all the information you need when applying for a post within this Council. However, if you require any further information about the recruitment process please contact Human Resources on 345282.

I wish you every success with your job search.”
