Health, Safety and Environmental Officer

We are seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Officer, to join our team.
This is a great role, offering superb work / life balance, with a 3 day working week.
We are a busy manufacturing, well established facility, and you will be tasked with developing and implementing the Health and Safety policies on site. You will play a key role in ensuring full compliance with all HSE legislation.
Commutable from:Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Aldridge, Birmingham, Brierly Hill, Brownhills, Willenhall, Wolverhampton, Lichfield, Great Wyrley, Cannock, Bloxwich and Codsall
Duties
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and site permit requirements
- Lead and improve H&S systems, procedures, audits, and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 standards
- Own and develop risk assessments, SOPs, COPS and safety standards with site teams
- Drive a strong safety culture through coaching, training, inductions and engagement
- Lead incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions and follow-up
- Manage hazard reporting systems, KPIs, and site safety performance reporting
- Support and lead SMAT walkabouts, 6S improvements, and compliance activities
- Act as key contact for HSE, Environmental Agency, and Local Authority requirements
- Oversee environmental compliance, waste streams, permits, and reporting obligations
- Coordinate contractor safety compliance, RAMS, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, DSEAR & REACH
- Deliver inductions, training, PPE management, and occupational health coordination
Requirements
- Strong background in Health & Safety / Environmental compliance in an industrial setting
- Experience with ISO standards, audits, and regulatory frameworks
- Confident communicator who can influence at all levels
- Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and safety culture
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
