We're looking for an experienced and proactive Operations Resource Manager to take ownership of tanker and crane resource planning across our operational areas. We welcome applications from candidates based in Devon and Cornwall, with the role requiring regular travel across the South West.
This is a high-impact role where you'll ensure the right resources are in the right place at the right time-balancing competing priorities, making critical decisions, and driving operational efficiency.
You'll work closely with Operations Managers, confidently challenging and influencing decisions to ensure resource allocation aligns with business priorities, budgets, and performance targets.
What you'll be doing:
- Coordinate and optimise the deployment of tanker and crane resources
- Assess and prioritise incoming requests based on operational needs
- Make timely, data-driven decisions on job allocation
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple teams
- Challenge and influence operational decisions to ensure best outcomes
- Monitor performance, track utilisation, and identify inefficiencies
- Produce reports on resource allocation, productivity, and bottlenecks
- Drive continuous improvement in resource planning processes
- Proven experience in resource planning, logistics, or wastewater operations
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience working cross-functionally with multiple teams
- Analytical mindset with a focus on performance improvement
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in water, environmental, or compliance-related roles
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership capability, supporting and guiding operational teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and resource planning systems
- Project management experience
- Financial awareness and ability to deliver efficiencies within budget
